Now that we are officially into November, the Out of the Cold program in St. Catharines has begun.
It has been a tumultuous few months for the program as they searched for places to host the emergency shelter seven days a week.
Committee Chair Susan Venditti says they have thankfully found the necessary locations, but this year will be a little different.
"We'll open for meals tonight at St. Alfred's Church at 6 p.m. The model is changing a bit because the sleeping will be at another location. So at 8 p.m. tonight we'll open at Robertson Hall, the Folk Arts, and we'll have a rotation every night of the week."
Venditti says the need grew by 108% for sleeping last year.
The program runs until April 16th.
