Residents living in Etobicoke won't be surprised to hear, yesterday was the wettest day in the Greater Toronto area in a half a decade.
The Weather Network says the air, soaked with moisture from Hurricane Barry, brought some 'epic' rain to the region.
Several motorists ended up stranded on the ramp to the 401 at Islington.
Network meteorologist Tyler Hamilton says more than 60 mm of rain was recorded at Pearson International yesterday between 8 am and 2 pm.
Hamilton adds "Not since the infamous floods of July 8th, 2013, which dumped over 120 mm at the airport have we received such a drenching in July."
