The Niagara Community Foundation has granted more money this year than every before.
More than $1.9 millionĀ has gone to local causes, including the latest round of grants totalling up to $370,000 through the David S. Howes Fund.
13 charities received a share of the money, including $136,000 for Brock University's partnership with the Canadian Mental Health Association to support students, $100,000 to Women's Place of South Niagara as they aim to double the capacity of their shelter, and $100,000 to Fonds Foyer Richelieu to support the building of a 128 bed long-term care home.
