The family of a Fort Erie father of five who was killed in a motorcylce crash that was sparked by an inflated air mattress on the highway in Welland is speaking out.
55 year old Donald Pidgeon's niece Kim Basile joined CKTB's Larry Fedoruk urging whoever owns the double-sized navy blue mattress to come forward.
She says the family isn't necessarily looking for justice, just closure.
Basile also says she hopes the person that lost the mattress comes forward for their own sake, so they can have closure as well and clear their conscious.
The accident happened around 9:30pm on Friday July 7th in the northbound lanes of the 406, just north of the East Main roundabout.
Three motorcycles came across the inflated air mattress, and the first driver was able to avoid it, but a 55 year old driver and his passenger were ejected from their bike.
A third biker tried to move around the air mattress but hit the second bike.
55 year old Donald Pidgeon from Fort Erie died in the crash.
The family has set up a gofundme, which can be seen by clicking here.
