The mother of a missing nine year old girl, is now the subject of a Canada wide arrest warrant.
Allana Haist disappeared with her nine year old daughter last Thursday from Welland.
Despite an Amber Alert issued Friday for Haist's daughter Layla Sabry there has been no sign of the pair.
The Hamilton Spec reporting the girl's father who lives in Egypt has released a statement through his lawyer.
Mohammed Abdel-Mattaleb says we just want Layla back, we just want her to be safe.
In the statement he also says his ex wife first abducted their daughter in the fall of 2015 from Cairo, and it was more than a year before he found out the pair were living in Welland.
Layla was then placed into temporary custody with her paternal aunt, who moved to Welland to take care of her until Layla's parents settled their custody dispute.
A court hearing was scheduled for December 2nd which Haist did not attend.
Meantime, a crowd funding campaign to raise money for Haist's custody battle has climbed to $14, 725 dollars past its $10,000 goal as of this morning.
