Researchers at the Vineland Research and Innovation Centre will be exploring agricultural technology thanks to federal funding.
Yesterday Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food Lawrence MacAulay appeared in Vineland to announce funding up to $5 million for the Automation Cluster under the Canadian Agricultural Partnership.
The research spearheaded by researchers at the Vineland Research and Innovation Centre will focus on developing robotic harvesters for greenhouse cucumbers; smart, wireless irrigation technology for potted flowers and vegetables; and sensors to monitor moisture levels in the soil and air.
