A major funding boost from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada is helping Niagara College buy new equipment.
An advanced land rover, unmanned aerial systems, and modern high performance computing equipment has been purchased for the college's Agriculture and Environmental Technologies Innovation Centre thanks to a $94,000 grant through the College and Community Innovation Program.
The funding was part of an announcement yesterday by Minister of Science and Sport Kirsty Duncan.
The RoamIO Jumbo rover was developed by developed by Korechi Inc. in Hamilton and will be used to patrol vineyard rows with sensors to monitor the weather and cameras to view the grape quantity.
