The feds announcing more than 26 million in gas tax money for the Niagara Region today.
The Region picking up the majority of the money at more than $13 million.
That's followed by St. Catharines at $3.9 million, Niagara Falls at $2.5 million and Welland at $1.5 million.
The money provides long term funding to municipalities to help them build and rehabiliitate their infrastructure.
To date, $15 billion has been invested in municipalities through the federal Gas Tax Fund, with close to $22 billion to flow over the next 10 years.
