The federal government is extending Canada Emergency Response Benefit eligibility by 8 weeks.
The CERB offers $2,000 a month for people unable to work due to COVID-19.
When the benefit was first announced it included an eligibility period of 16 weeks and many Canadians were nearing that threshold.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau also announced the Canada-US border restrictions are being extended for another 30 days.
The restrictions will now be in place until at least July 21st.
