Updated modelling on the spread of COVID-19 will be released today by the Public Health Agency of Canada.
Federal health officials will present new modelling at noon today that outlines best- and worst-case scenarios for how COVID-19 cases could rise and fall across Canada.
Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Tam and her deputy, Dr. Howard Njoo, will be joined by Health Minister Patty Hajdu and Minister of Public Services and Procurement Anita Anand for a news conference in Ottawa.
The figures will offer a prediction on what the number of COVID-19 cases and deaths might be in the short-term, based on how the virus has been spreading in recent days.
Infection rates have been steadily rising across the country for several weeks, with some jurisdictions saying say they are officially into a second wave of the pandemic.
