The Canadian government giving us another prediction on the track the COVID-19 virus is taking.
Federal health officials are projecting that in two weeks time (July 12th) the country could see between 103,940 and 108,130 cases, and between 8,545 and 8,865 deaths.
To-date there are 103,250 confirmed Canadian COVID-19 cases, of which 64 per cent have recovered, while there have been 8,522 deaths.
New national modelling on the COVID-19 pandemic in Canada shows that “hotspots” remain in Ontario and Quebec, and the percentage of younger people contracting the virus has increased in the last month.
Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Theresa Tam says officials expect to see a rise in cases of COVID-19 as business and school closures are lifted.
She is also asking you to try to keep the number of your contacts low to reduce your risk, and to make it easier for health officials to track your contacts if you get the virus.
