Federal Conservative MP Tony Clement has resigned from the Conservative shadow cabinet after he shared explicit sexual images and a video of himself electronically.
In a statement, Clement says the images were sent in the last three weeks and he believed they were going to a ``consenting female."
He now believes he's the victim of a financial extortion attempt and the RCMP are investigating.
Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer says in a statement he is greatly disappointed with Clement's actions but is encouraged that he has decided to seek help.
Clement has been serving the riding of Parry Sound-Muskoka since 2006.
He is married with three children.
