Ottawa is coming up with the cash to rescue Ontario's 50 Million Tree Program.
Federal Environment Minister Catherine McKenna is expected to announce this afternoon, her government will contribute $15 million over four years to rescue the program which was cut by the Ford government in its spring budget.
More than 27 million trees have been planted across the province since 2008, over halfway to reaching the goal of planting 50 million trees by 2025.
McKenna noting trees clean the air and provide a healthier environment.
