A fire has destroyed a heritage building in Wainfleet.
Crews were called to Side Road 18 last night between 10:30 and 11 p.m. where they battled the flames for around 2 and a half hours.
The fire ripped through the building as heavy smoke billowed into the sky.
According to the Welland Tribune, the building was the Minor House and the fire department will be continuing the investigation today.
So far there is no word as to a cause.
Wainfleet Mayor April Jeffs tells CKTB News the Ontario Fire Marshal has been called in.
