One person was taken to hospital after early morning fire in St.Catharines.
The cause of the early morning fire at a vacant building that has closed a section of Welland Avenue is still under investigation.
At 7:30 a.m. Wednesday St. Catharines firefighters responded to reports of a fire at the vacant building located at 210 Welland Ave.
Upon arriving on the scene, firefighters found the entire building engulfed in flames.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze, which involved demolishing a section of the building.
Emergency responders found an individual suffering from burn injuries outside the building.
The individual was treated on scene and transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Welland Avenue between Geneva Street and Balfour Street will remain closed until further notice as part of the investigation.
