If you travel the J.R. Stork Bridge along Martindale Road be prepared to detour for the next several months.
The bridge was closed Friday after heavy rains and flooding caused significant damage to the bridge.
The Niagara Region now expects that Martindale Road at the bridge will remain closed for a few months while reconstruction takes place.
The region says, as they decide how best to proceed with repairs, a more detailed timeline will be announced.
Local residents and emergency services will have access up to the limits of the bridge but will not have access across the structure.
A detour route will be posted along Lakeshore Road West, Seventh Street and theSouth Service Road.
