The Niagara Peninsula Conversation Authority has issued a flood watch.
The flood watch comes as the Niagara Peninsula and parts of Hamilton and Halimand are under a rainfall warning issued by Environment Canada.
Between 50 and 75mm of rain is forecasted, starting this afternoon and continuing throughout Saturday.
The recent rain has resulted in higher than normal water levels and flows within our watercourses.
Right now, water levels are elevated but remain below critical thresholds.
The NPCA says the Lake Ontario shoreline erosion and flooding is also a concern.
Residents are advised to keep an eye on river and lake conditions in their areas, and should avoid driving through flooded roadways.
This flood watch is in effect until noon on Sunday.
