The death toll from Florence now sits at 17.
The storm made landfall on Friday, bringing battering rains and punishing winds - as of this morning, the rain is still falling and rivers are quickly rising.
For the people of Wilmington, North Carolina the situation is dire as most of the city is underwater and travel by land has been made almost impossible thanks to flooded roadways.
All of the deaths so far are attributed to the Carolinas.
Florence has been downgraded to a tropical depression.
