Residents of a city in Florida might have felt like they were transported to an episode of The Walking Dead after a 'zombie alert' was sent out during a power outage.
A spokesperson for Lake Worth confirms an independent investigation is underway after 7,880 customers were sent a message warning of 'zombie activity' during a 27 minute power outage over the weekend.
Officials do not believe a current or former employee is behind the mysterious missive and no one has been fired.
A hacking issue was noted during Hurricane Irma last September, but officials thought that issue had been dealt with.
