Premier Doug Ford was in Niagara today to make an infrastructure announcement.
Ford was joined by Niagara West MPP Sam Oosterhoff to commit 1.7 million dollars to improve Pelham Street in Fonthill.
The announcement was made at Beamer's Hardware and TV on Pelham Street.
A small group protested outside the store about the PC government's changes to autism funding for Ontario children.
Ford says they are doing an "incredible job' on the autism file.
Ford was asked about the PC government's review on local governance, which is looking at Niagara's municipal government, and could include amalgamation plans.
The Premier says it's almost comical that there are 136 politicians in Niagara for a population of 400,000 people.
He says the people of Niagara will see a leaner government, and details on the review will be revealed by Ontario Municipal Affairs and Housing Minister Steven Clark.
Ford also promised positive news is coming when it comes to the 2021 Summer Games in Niagara.
