About 600 salaried workers in Canada are expected to be offered packages as Ford cuts non-factory jobs in North America and Asia Pacific this year.
The automaker is trying to boost profits and rescue its sagging stock price in the face of new technology costs and slowing U-S car sales.
The company plans to offer voluntary early retirement and separation packages to about 10 per cent of salaried workers in its sales, marketing and human resources departments.
Ford says the packages will be offered to more than 15-thousand workers, including the 600 in Canada.
