Two formal complaints have been filed against a Hamilton judge over his choice of head wear.
Judge Berndt Zabel made headlines last week after arriving in court at the John Sopinka Courthouse wearing a Donald Trump campaign hat with the slogan Make America Great Again.
An Osgoode Hall law professor filed a complaint last week with the Ontario Judicial Council and the Women's Legal Education and Action fund has now followed suit.
Neither the Judicial Council nor the province's Attorney General will comment on the case.
The complaints allege Zabel violated several principals of judicial behaviour noting the wearing of political symbols is a serious breach of impartiality and obectivity.
