The Minister of the Environment has appointed Bill Hodgson as Chair of the Niagara Source Protection Committee.
The move is a redemption of sorts for the former politician who resigned from the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority Board after being publicly censured in 2017, accused of corrupting the hiring process of an auditor.
He said he did nothing wrong and was being bullied by fellow board members (who no longer hold positions on the board) and was later cleared by the Auditor General.
On its website, it says the Niagara Source Protection Committee " was formed under the Ontario Clean Water Act to help protect drinking water at the source, as part of an overall commitment to safeguard human health and the environment."
