The Bereavement Authority of Ontario says a St. Catharines funeral director has lost his licence due to past conduct, while the man himself has hired a lawyer.
The Registrar of the Funeral, Burial, and Cremation Service act issued notices of proposal to revoke the Class 1 Transfer Service Operator Licence for Passfield Mortuary Services and the Class 1 Funeral Director Licence for Robert Passfield in February of 2018.
On August 27th, a decision was made by the BAO to withdraw the proposal to revoke the licence for Passfield and the business was placed on conditions to follow similar to a probation.
Two days later, on August 29th, the BAO made the decision to revoke Robert Passfield's funeral director licence.
Passfield has been in contact with CKTB News - he says the business is still running, now under the direction of Sarah Wilson after he voluntarily retired a few weeks ago.
Passfield says his lawyer is now in contact with the BAO; he claims his licence was never revoked.
