A verdict on a high profile terrorism case involving a local woman is before British Columbia's Appeal Court today.
The Appeal Court will be ruling on a lower court decision that threw out a guilty verdict for a couple originally found guilty of plotting to blow up the BC legislature.
On Canada Day in 2013, Amanda Korody (originally from St. Catharines) and John Nuttal were arrested and charged with multiple terrorism-related charges after police say they planted bombs around the legislature.
In 2015, the pair were found guilty of conspiring to commit murder, possessing an explosive substance, and placing an explosive in a public place on behalf of a terrorist group.
Since then, the convictions were thrown out when a Supreme Court Justice said the couple had been entrapped by the RCMP.
Today, the Appeal Court will be delivering its verdict as the Crown argues the lower court judge has no basis to conclude police manipulated the pair.
