A former Thorold regional councillor and mayor has been appointed as the citizen representative to the Niagara Police Services' Board.
Last night, regional councillors accepted the appointment of Henry D'Angela to the board for this term of council ending in 2022.
D'Angela formerly served as a mayor and regional councillor for the city of Thorold, and sat on the police services board between 2010 and 2014.
He has also served as the chair of Niagara Regional Housing in the past.
During the October municipal election, D'Angela lost a bid to reclaim the mayor's job to Terry Ugulini.
Niagara's political representatives on the board include Niagara Falls Regional Councillor Bob Gale, Port Colborne Mayor Bill Steele, and Wainfleet Mayor Kevin Gibson.
