An investigation into how the Conservative party handled a sexual assault allegation against a former St. Catharines MP, is under scrutiny.
The investigation is reportedly wrapping up, but a former top Conservative says the process was flawed.
The party launched a probe into sexual assault allegations against former MP Rick Dykstra after McLean's magazine published a story accusing Dkystra of sexually assaulting a young Conservative staffer on February 11th, 2014.
After the story broke, the federal Conservatives along with then prime minister Stephen Harper were accused of ignoring the allegation during the 2015 election campaign and allowed Dykstra to continue as a candidate, an election he ultimately lost.
Dykstra denies the allegations.
Now Guy Giorno who was the party's national campaign chair during the 2015 election and Harper's cheif of staff before that, is objecting to the way witness interviews were recorded.
He says investigators were only allowed to take notes, and there are no tapes or transcripts of those interviews.
