Fort Erie Mayor Wayne Redekop is self-isolating at home after a recent family trip.
While he does not have symptoms, and with no known COVID-19 exposure, the Mayor is following expert public health guidance given to all Canadians to self-isolate for 14 days following international travel.
In a release sent to CKTB, officials say that Mayor Redekop remains head-of-council and will continue in his governance capacity, working with council and staff to ensure the smooth administration of the municipality.
Councillor Ann-Marie Noyes will chair the Monday meeting of council during the mayor’s absence.
The meeting will be live-streamed at 6pm. Click here for details.
