The town of Fort Erie will now have two top positions to fill at its fire department.
Last month, Deputy Chief Keith German resigned from the post effective April 1st.
Now we have word the town has lost its fire chief.
Town officials announcing after seven years of service yesterday was Fire Chief Larry Coplen’s last day of employment.
No word on why Coplen has left the post.
In a release, Fort Erie officials say "Since coming to the Town, Coplen has taken on key roles in regional and cross-border emergency management issues, expanded the Public Education program and oversaw the construction of the Central Fire Station. Through Larry’s efforts, the organization has accomplished initiatives that will support the future sustainability of Fire and Emergency Services. We wish him well in his future endeavours.”
Deputy Fire Chief Keith German will serve as Interim Fire Chief in the meantime.
