A Toronto property owner has been fined $2,500 after Fire Prevention Inspectors in Fort Erie found a serious violation at a local hotel.
Following up on a complaint, inspectors found an emergency exit door at the Courtwright Hotel had been screwed shut.
Due to the seriousness of the offence Inspectors quickly initiated a prosecution against the owner.
Pingyou "Alfred" Li was convicted of the offence on Wednesday.
The Fort Erie Fire officials also corrected the problem.
