We now know the charges a Fort Erie man will be facing after a 5 hour standoff in Crystal Beach.
It began yesterday morning around 7:20 a.m. when officers were called about a man in crisis at a Ridgeway and Brunswick home.
Officers were told the man possibly had a gun, leading to several roads being blocked off and residents were told to shelter in place.
The Emergency Task Unit, K9 Unit, and Crisis Negotiators were called in, as well as additional help from the Halton Police Rescue Vehicle.
Around 12:30 p.m. the man surrendered to the police without incident; the cops then discovered the man had a pellet gun.
67 year old Joseph Henry Sampson is being charged with Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle and three counts of Assault With a Weapon.
Although there were no reported injuries during the standoff, police now tell us one man alleges he sustained minor injuries after being hit by a vehicle driven by the accused. There are three male victims as a result of this incident.
