The Fort Erie SPCA has some new wheels to help animals find forever homes.
SPCA manager Wendy Tromblay says they were proud to roll out their new adoption van just in time for Ridge Fest over the weekend.
"Well we've done a lot of fundraising over the years. Raffles, donations, we did some GoFundMe, ending up getting some funds and we put it towards it."
The Ridgeway Lions also donated $2,000 to make the adoption van a reality.
During the first outing, five cats were adopted and four dogs have gone for 'sleepovers.'
Tromblay expects the adoption van will be busy over the next while. "We're getting invitations all the time to attend open houses, and festivals, and fall festivals."
Some of the first animals to climb aboard came a long way to be there; the Fort Erie SPCA recently took in 67 cats from Texas who had been scheduled to be put down.
