2016 is coming to an end without the sound of race cars roaring around an oval in Fort Erie.
Hold ups at Queen's Park being blamed for ongoing delays in the development of the ambitious 400 million dollar Canadian Motor Speedway project.
Speedway spokesman Erik Tomas says they are waiting for other people to tell them what comes next and if they have approval to proceed.
Earlier this month, after hearing concerns of several Fort Erie councillors, the town's CAO met with the developers about delays
The developers promising to go before town council early in the New Year to give a formal update on the project.
