The Fraser Institute has released a scathing report detailing education spending across Canada.
The report has found, spending on education climbed by 41 percent or $18 billion between 2004 and 2014, despite a drop in the number of school age children.
The right leaning think tank's report says the majority of that increase has gone to pay for teacher's salaries, pensions and benefits.
The author's of the report also note spending on teacher's pensions has nearly doubled over the past decade.
Institute officials say all the data it used is based on Statistic Canada figures.
