A freezing rain warning is now in effect for the Niagara Region.
A special weather statement is also still in effect warning of mixed precipitation.
A Colorado low is moving northeast across Georgian Bay and Lake Huron.
Gerald Cheng from Environment Canada is expecting snow to start in Niagara shortly after midnight.
He thinks we will get around 2 cm of snow before it changes to freezing rain around 4-5 a.m.
Cheng says the freezing rain will continue until 8am.
He is advising drivers that the roads will be slick during the peak of the morning commute.
Winds are also expected to kick up - the special weather statement warns of gusts up to 80 km/hr.
