Officials in Paris say a man has been shot after allegedly attacking soldiers when he was told he couldn't enter an underground shopping mall beneath the Louvre Museum with his bags.
The Paris police chief says the man launched himself at the soldiers, shouting ``God is great'' in Arabic, prompting one of the soldiers to shoot the man five times, gravely wounding him.
A soldier is said to have been slightly injured.
Soldiers routinely patrol key sites in Paris as part of beefed-up security in the French capital.
