A Welland family is receiving help from the community after a fire burned through their home.
The fire over the weekend started in a neighbour's garage and spread to the Pablo family's home - a home completed by Habitat for Humanity Niagara two months ago.
Chief Development Officer for Habitat for Humanity Niagara Karen Dolyniuk says they have started a fundraiser to help the family cope.
"It's just to help them get through this initial patch in terms of school supplies. The kids all started school today and they are going to go to to their first day but they lost all their backpacks, their clothes, their shoes."
Right now the organization is asking for cash donations since the family has no where to store physical goods at this time.
The fundraiser can be found on the Habitat for Humanity Niagara website.
