The chair of the Niagara Police Services Board says he will not be making any public comments for now on the retirement package given to former Chief Jeff McGuire.
In an email to CKTB News, Bob Gale writes, "I will be addressing the past Chief retirement as much as I can at Regional Council on Thursday night and as this is a Labour issue with sensitive clauses there will be no interviews before then."
Details of McGuire's retirement were released late last month.
The former Chief was given more than $870,000 dollars to retire with three years left on his contract.
Yesterday, Regional Chair Alan Caslin speaking to CKTB'S Matt Holmes refused once again to explain why the board paid McGuire to take an early retirement.
Caslin would only say not one member of the community has complained to him about the near million dollar deal.
