The construction of the Port Dalhousie pier is moving along.
As spring approaches one issue that people will notice is a lack in parking at Lakeside Park.
Councillor Carlos Garcia says he is keeping an eye on the issue as construction vehicles are taking up about half of the lot, "obviously that parking lot is critical not only to the businesses but to the residents of St. Catharines and the region who come down to Lakeside Park. The minute we have good weather that parking lot is full."
Garcia says he is working with the company to see if some space can be freed up but understands they need to space to stage their equipment.
He adds right now he is trying to figure out some solutions, "(we are) trying to look at other areas where people can park, and make sure that we increase the awareness of places like the Jaycee Park parking lot and the fact that we have that beautiful bridge that you can walk across."
Construction of the west pier is expected complete next spring and the east side close to the spring of 2021.
