Don't expect gas prices to return to normal anytime soon.
Senior Petroleum Analyst with Gasbuddy.com Dan McTeague says with many Texas refineries still underwater or inoperable it could be some time before those refineries can even begin the process of restarting.
McTeague says there are more problems on the horizon that could delay things even further.
"We're looking at Hurricane Irma, which is now clocking at a category five making, it's way likely ultimately to Florida but that's more disruptive than anything and that could delay the increase."
In McTeague's opinion we won't see prices return to pre-Harvey levels for at least a month.
"Now of course everyone is waiting - well what happens? If you see any movements it's really just retailers toying with their operating margins, but the wholesale prices should decrease about 2 cents a litre for Thursday which means we could see prices trending back towards the $1.20 - 1.22 range."
