It turns out a giant rubber duck set up at a Toronto festival may not have been the absurd waste of taxpayer money that some critics claimed.
The Ontario government created an uproar when it gave the Redpath Waterfront Festival about 120-thousand dollars to help bring the six-storey rubber duck to the event over the Canada Day weekend.
But a study conducted by Enigma Research shows the economic impact of the festival was a record 7.6-million dollars.
It attracted about 750-thousand people -- which the festival says was due in part to what was billed as the world's largest rubber duck.
