General Motors is recalling nearly 700,000 2014 Chevy Silverados and G-M-C Sierras -- 80,000 in Canada -- because of a software problem,
The U-S National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says the issue could cause the vehicles to spontaneously lose their electric power steering assistance for about a second, potentially causing drivers to lose control of the steering wheel and crash.
The agency says the problem could be amplified during low-speed turns.
