It's not a silver bullet, but the CEO of the Niagara Workforce Planning Board says GO train service to the region is going to have a major impact.
Mario De DivitiisĀ calls it "the biggest piece of our puzzle" in terms of getting theĀ attention Niagara needs.
That includes getting the government to invest here and getting people to move here.
De Deivitiis says mapping shows that when GO service comes to a community, there's an increase in development and population.
He says currently Niagara isn't a commuting "culture" as most people who live here, work here.
Numbers show 12,000 people commute to Hamilton from Niagara every day, only 6,000 to Toronto.
