The Trudeau government will release fresh projections on the country's finances this afternoon.
Finance Minister Bill Morneau isn't expected to give any timetable for balancing the federal books when he delivers his fall fiscal update, but he will share his expectation of smaller-than-anticipated annual deficits in the years ahead.
Morneau told the Commons yesterday that's because the economy is doing better.
He is also expected to ensure much of the credit goes to the Liberal economic plan, which has included a tax cut for middle-income earners and enhanced child benefits.
