Residents in Niagara Falls who want their final resting place to be a little more green have a new option.
The City of Niagara Falls is hosting a grand opening for Niagara's first green burial section at Fairview Cemetery.
On September 23rd, the mayor and members of council will be at the cemetery for a ribbon cutting ceremony.
Green burial, sometimes called natural burial, aims to have as little impact on the environment as possible by using non-toxic, biodegradable materials such as caskets, shrouds, and urns.
