Angela Case’s son Jordan died at the Niagara Detention Centre on December 1st, 2018.
Case says Jordan had fentanyl and cocaine in his system, even though he was in segregation at the jail 23 hours out of the day.
Case says the Ministry needs to do something saying the Niagara Detention Centre is overcrowded with 260 inmates, in a facility built for only 125.
Candlelight vigils will begin at 7:30 Sunday evening in Niagara, London and Hamilton.
She hopes to call attention to the conditions of overcrowded detention centres in Ontario.
She asks that anyone who can not attend the vigil post on social media in support.
