Grimsby Secondary School is 'completely rejecting' an article claiming the school may be inflating the grades of its students.
Last week, Global News published a report using data from the University of Waterloo's engineering program suggesting students from GSS saw their marks plummet 27% during their first year in the prestigious program - the biggest drop of any school included on the list.
In a letter sent home to parents, the high school questions the validity of the article, calling it 'limited in scope' and noting Grimsby is among the 8% of Ontario schools who actually have students admitted to the program.
Officials with Grimsby Secondary also say their students consistently perform well on standardized testing with 86% of students meeting EQAO requirements last year.
