A new report from Toronto's top doctor raises concerns about the province's more relaxed booze rules.
Doctor Eileen de Villa's report says making alcohol available in more places for longer periods could have serious public health effects.
The medical officer of health writes in the report that there could be more cases of alcohol-related illnesses, such as cancer, liver disease, and violence linked to booze consumption.
De Villa is recommending the city study the possible effects further and forward her report on to the province's Minister of Finance for review.
