Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning for the Niagara Region as well as Hamilton, Halton and Peel Regions for Wednesday.
Commuters to Toronto should keep in mind a winter weather travel advisory is in effect for Wednesday.
The Weather Network's Scott Sutherland says the freezing rain will start pre-dawn, with the worst of it falling between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Sutherland says this will be hours of freezing rain and road conditions will be treacherous for both the morning and afternoon commutes.
He says Niagara will see ice accumulations of 5-10 mm or more.
