The University of Windsor Law faculty is planning to file a second complaint against a Hamilton judge who made headlines for wearing a Donald Trump style campaign hat to court.
Judge Berndt Zabel apologized days after the November 9th incident, admitting it was a breach of the principals of judicial office and an attempt to inject humour into the courtroom.
But now a transcript of comments Zabel made to the court the same day, have been made public.
The transcript shows the judge telling the court "Pissed off the rest of the judges because they all voted for Hillary, so I was the only Trump supporter there but that's okay."
Now the law faculty is filing a second complaint saying Zabel's remarks are compelling evidence he wore the hat to make a political statement.
Justice Zabel has yet to make a comment on the latest controversy.
